I was caught in a “mess up” at the PATH train station today; the service from Journal Square my stop was cut off due to some difficulty. Only, of course, after the cars packed with people had been waiting to go for a half hour. At that point I turned around and came home, not in the best mood.

But I thought, Father Lou will have something to say that will make me feel better. So I listened to your homily and indeed it made me feel better!

There were so many points I jotted down. That the Lord never tires of forgiving. That we should know how to accept His mercy.

The most important point for me, however, was – why can’t we be as generous as the Lord. Some times we want a special person to be all our own. But that special person, usually serving in some public capacity, can’t be all our own. By their very activities they belong to many.

The ability to share a special friend with others and not be envious is the main point of your homily today for me. And it is something I will work on.

Thank you very much for sharing this thought!
